Campus Living offers people with intellectual and developmental disabilities an opportunity to live with many peers in a campus environment in the community.

Allegheny Valley School opened its first Campus in 1960.  The number of people who live at a Campus varies.  All of Allegheny Valley School's Campuses are supervised 24-hours a day by qualified staff.  An important component of the Campus Living option is the availability of nursing care 24-hours a day.

Individuals are encouraged to participate fully in their communities by enjoying picnics in the local parks, attending services at the local churches or synagogues, shopping at the local grocery store and malls and going to local sporting and entertainment events.

Who Can Participate?
To be eligible for placement at one of Allegheny Valley School's Campuses an individual must have a primary diagnosis of mental retardation.
